The Porsche Boxster – A Two-Seater To Die For – 18. October, 2011

Initially released in 1996, the Porsche Boxster is reputed to be among the best roadsters worldwide when you consider its road handling capabilities. The Boxster has retained its reputation as a fast vehicle with a maximum of power while undergoing very few interior or horsepower changes since its introduction. With their popular versions, Porsche usually maintains the same look for an extended period of time.

In 2005, Porsche brought out an even more compelling second-generation Boxster which just didn’t stray from their normal design process. Comparable to a Porsche Spyder, it also has the dual seats along with six cylinders and a mid-engine that it had in earlier models. With the new Boxster, you still find that greater than 50% of the makeup and electronics are taken from the 911 Carrera. The 2005 features considerably more intensity than the 2004 version due to alterations of the torque and increased horsepower. The 2005 Boxster S was practically an identical match to the pinnacle of the model Porsche 911 Carrera with its ability to accelerate and easily drive at top speeds.

The Boxster’s hallmark trombone sound that arises with its exhaust is simply not like that of any other vehicle. Because the engine looks like the six-cylinder of the Carrera, only on a smaller scale, this is fairly surprising. Putting in a six-speed transmission is discretionary since the Boxster typically comes with a five-speed manual transmission. Additionally, it may get the five-speed Porsche-designed Tiptronic automatic transmission system put in, which is an excellent option. A newer trend in which automatic vehicles are shifted manually has made this possible. The Boxster is not really thought to be an opulent car but it definitely has only the best in interior and exterior features. Including a new custom set of porsche wheels.

At first, critics accused the automobile of giving the impression of a budget car, but the interior now has a more upscale look. With a revised gearshift, and paneling with a titanium look, the center console has been improved. The brand new car has much better seating, with their body-shape as well as a lot better structure and support. The Boxster features a modest trunk in the rear of the car, and one more, larger one under the front hood, so carrying luggage is not a problem. An entertaining quality of the Boxster, and likewise one of the best, could be the powered convertible top, that opens and shuts quickly, up to 30 mph. The top is weather-tight, and silent with triple-layer cushioned cloth tops, and the rear window is heated-glass.

The Boxster is recognized as a mid-engine automobile, because the six-cylinder engine is situated in front of the rear axle, and behind the seats. You can’t look under the hood to find it, because you won’t find it there. If you’d like to view the engine, you will have to look from underneath. The nice thing about having the engine near the car’s center is better weight distribution. This is the reason the Porshe Boxster controls so incredibly well.
